Guitars

I fully anticipate that this section will continue to grow quickly.  Here are some guitars that I hope to eventually add to my collection:

Brian May Guitars Brian May Signature Electric Guitar Antique Cherry

It’s the freakin’ Red Special, people.  Brian May has been one of my guitar heroes for a long time, having put out some of the best rock hits coming and going in the 1970’s and 1980’s.  What makes this guitar attractive to me is the authentic Queen-style sound you can get out of it, the relatively inexpensive price (~$799) and the fact that it is a unique guitar that you are unlikely to run in to.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Electric Guitar Gold Top

This one is very easy to explain: my buddy Paul has one, and its sweet.  I was struggling with buying a Gibson Les Paul or a Fender Stratocaster as my first electric guitar, and the Fender Strat won out.  This is the other gold standard in electric guitars, and I can tell you from personal experience that the cherry sunburst finish on this thing is HOT, as is the nitrocellulose laquer that they use.  I’ve not heard his Les Paul through an amp yet, but he tells me it sounds great too.
